Etsy is being flooded with indie polish, handmade polish made by individuals. Most of the polish collections are designed around a certain theme, and are free of the most harmful chemicals. I haven’t tried any of these indie polish collections myself (I am not good about nail polish, it’s a little embarrassing).

Things are getting hectic in the world of Claire and Nicole. Claire can’t see over her schoolwork, she’s trying to plan her wedding, and oh yeah be a parent. I’m listing my house for sell, which is a project the likes of which I’ve never tackled. Which of course means I’m blogging
5 on Friday: DIY Halloween Costumes

Halloween is only three short weeks away, and it’s time to get costuming! If your local Halloween store is like mine, costumes are expensive and poorly made. Not really something I want to spend my money on. Plus, you may show up at the party in the same costume as someone else!

When iOS7 was first released last week, my initial thought was “Gah! Fisher-Price has taken over my iPhone.” Everything became rounded, soft, and because of my wallpaper, pastel. There were good updates, and bad updates to the iPhone with iOS7. Here are both, plus how to improve your experience, as seen from

On Sunday we will officially hit the first day of fall, which can only mean one thing. It’s time to pumpkin ALL the things, including beer. This past Wednesday I went to Queen of the Pumpkin Ales at Hearthstone Coffee House and Pub, hosted by Girls’ Pint Out, and tried four varieties

It’s after labor day which means summer, and con season, is winding down. This was my first true con season, and it was a blast. We started with the Louisville Arcade Expo (still my favorite of the year), went to InConJunction to checkout a locally ran con, Fandom Fest was disappointing but
5 on Friday: A Musical Tribute to Geek Girls

Geek Girls, we don’t get a ton of songs written about us. When we do, they tend to be borderline fetishizing. A guy who’s in love with some geek girl from afar, or she’s pretty with a side of geek. A genuine “you’re awesome” song is hard to come by. But when we

There’s been some shakeups happening in the Pure Geekery twitterverse. Claire has joined Twitter as @PurelyClaire! Before Claire was on Twitter, I was running the Pure Geekery twitter account off of my personal account. I switched it back to being just me, so I’m now @PurelyNicole. If you were following @Pure_Geekery you

Lately we’ve been getting messages from Pure Geekery fans asking us to feature their geeky Etsy shop. I love geeky crafts, and the creators who don’t send cease-and-desist letters (I’m looking at you Fox). And I love people trying to find a way to escape the 9-to-5 (I fantasize Pure Geekery will

It’s summer. It’s time for lounging by the pool, too much wine, and of course road trips. This weekend Claire and I will be heading on a mini road trip to Louisville for FandomFest (keep an eye on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook for updates). Of course we’ll need an appropriate road trip
