Claire’s Top 10 Halloween Movies
It’s no secret that I love movies and TV and dressing up. So it shouldn’t surprise anyone that All Hallows Eve is a time of much creepy celebration in my house. I love creepy movies and while I haven’t had as much time as I would like to watch them this year (damn you grad school), here are my top ten October essentials.
10. Anything MST3K- Terrible movies, hilarious commentary and robots. There is absolutely nothing that could go wrong here…..
9. Carrie- This is pretty much the only Stephen King story I can stand. I’m more of a psychological thriller girl than blood and gore, and this definitely fits the bill.
8. Scary Movie- A high school classic. Stupid and perfect for watching during Halloween drinking and overconsumption of candy.
7. Sleepy Hollow- Not only is the one of my favorite Halloween stories, it has Christopher Walken. Sure he’s only in it for 2 minutes, but he’s fabulous.
6. Nightmare on Elm Street- No explanation needed here. It’s a classic.
5. Nightmare Before Christmas- The first childhood classic on this list- and it’s on two of my holiday movie lists!
4.Army of Darkness- CHAINSAW ARM. BRUCE CAMPBELL.
3. Evil Dead- BRUCE CAMPBELL. EVIL TREES.
2. Halloweentown- Another high school classic. it’s wonderful in its terribleness.
1. Hocus Pocus- Bette Midler and SJP in a 90s classic (And McGee from NCIS!). No Halloween is complete without this movie. Tonight the Geekling will be learning to go AMUCK AMUCK AMUCK!!!!!
