House #6: The One that Started it All

When we decided to sell our house, I mentioned we went to an open house on a whim. This is that house.

The house that started this journey.

“But Nicole, this isn’t anywhere close to a mid-century modern!” I know. Not to mention it is down the street from where we are now so the location isn’t ideal. But, it is an older home. On a decent amount of land (read: privacy), with a pool. While we walked around the house, we just couldn’t help but notice the details that make us love older homes. Things like storage, and builtins, and real wood trim. Plus, it needed some serious updating which would give us a project.

Obviously, after looking around a bit this isn’t nearly the right house for us. But it is the house that made us realize what else was out there. And that it was time for us to start looking. And for that, I will always smile when I see this place.
